THRILLER VS HORROR Thriller movies and Horror movies often get confused with each other, but there are some differences that set them apart. WHAT IS A THRILLER? A Thriller is a movie that can often overlap with horror where the viewer is required to think about the plot and details. Thrillers are often characterized by the moods they give off weather it be suspenseful, scary, feeling of anxiety. A successful group of Thriller movies are the Alfred Hitchcock collection. WHAT IS A HORROR MOVIE Horror movies are movies where the purpose of watching it is to feel entertainment through being frightened, often using stuff such as violence, blood, gore, and supernatural tendencies to allow the viewer to feel this way. reviewing feedback

reviewing feedback    Upon looking through the feedback we were given I'm going to be talking about what we can change and focus on to improve the main task. The most common review was our editing or lack of it, we both knew going into this task that it was the part we would struggle with most, and as we thought it effected our production highly giving it a jumpy feel and not letting the story line come together, this along side with no non-diegetic sound made it extremely emotionless for the audience. Another topic brought up a lot was the costume and setting these we are not worried about because they were not our focus as we didn't have access to what we wanted, we also feel with all these things the story line will come together well so we are also less in worries about that. The positive notes the feedback has given us is our camera angles and movement although the movement could use some more work, however we are pleased that it was noticed as it was our stronger point...

update

Update to where we are up to .  At the moment I'm still in a pair with Edward Paul and we are currently working on new blogs and our parliamentary task, we have done all the filming and are working our way though the editing which is going to our liking, we have focused mainly on shot types and angles and are enjoying the experimentations we are able to do, the part we are struggling with is that the setting we are imagining in our heads we are not able to use so it looks a bit jumbled but are both still happy with the progression and the confidence we have built around a camera. we look forward to seeing how it comes out and are further more excited to do it in the settings we have imagined.

Diegetic and Non-Diegetic sound

Diegetic and Non-Diegetic sound In movie-making, there are these factors called Diegetic and Non-Diegetic sound. Diegetic sound:  Sound that is there in the video eg: Door closing, the wind blowing etc. Non-Diegetic sound:   This is sound that is added in afterwards with an editing software, for example music, narrations etc. A good example where both of these are used at the same time is in William Strobeck's video "JOYRIDE'. It is a skateboarding video so you can hear the boats hit the ground etc (diegetic sound) while the song "Sacred Love" - Bad Brains plays over it (Non-Diegetic).
