proposal pitch to a day in the life (preliminary task)

My idea for a day in the life (preliminary task) will be using the aspect of the life of a boarder at Ellesmere college and the repetitiveness of each and every day, I will be using mainly montage and interview.
     within the task I will be working independently as well as using my fellow boarders for interviews, my camera shots and angles will majority involve mid shots, close ups and possibly long shots, some will be hand held camera and others using a tripod.
       it will be a participatory documentary challenging some of the codes and conventions, i will take part in some shots but not others. i will be filming friends, meals and everyday activates in a fast paced documentary.

  Sergei Eisenstein   “The father of montage” often “the father of editing too as is represented in his political film “battleship Potemkin”. The montage was one of the first ways of catching emotion within a films character, other ways were used such as “Nanook of the north” by Robert Flaherty, however montage has carried on throughout all kinds of genres.    The famous scene in battleship Potemkin where the citizens were running for there lives down the steps was a masterclass in montage, it was the first time one scenes times had been extended through editing by a series of linked images. Unfortunately, this movie was band in Russia for political reasons but the film continued to be studied in many film schools and is the reason for montage and some of the editing today.
